Understand and use math fundamentals with confidence for today's industrial market. This course is designed for your employment success, therefore we offer it free of charge to welding (and Machining) students seeking employment. We will start with a refresher of fundamentals and operations, and advance to elementary algebra, geometry, and trigonometry used in the trades. This is a Thursday evening class. Enrollment in a current welding or machining course is required.
Participants will learn to recognize and provide care for persons of all ages who have experienced a sudden illness or injury until Emergency Medical Services arrive and take over. Following current Emergency Cardiac Care guidelines, students will learn to recognize a heart attack and what do in this situation, including providing CPR and using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Students will also learn to recognize stroke, breathing emergencies, and how to treat burns. Additional skills include caring for choking adults, children and infants, and controlling bleeding, as well as checking responsive persons. Certificate and reference card included. Presented by Maine Safety Education. This is a Saturday class.
You’ve taken a welding class…now it’s time to tackle that home project! Join us for “rent-a-booth” Saturday and put those skills into practice—bring your own project and materials. Projects will be “carry in, carry out.” All projects and additional materials must be vetted at least one week in advance through the instructor(s).
Previous welding instruction and experience is required. Prepare to pay extra for materials the instructor anticipates you'll need.
