Do you want to take better care of your chainsaw, but don’t know how? This new course, offered by Angela Mellon, a Stihl Silver-Level Service Technician, covers the basics of maintenance and preventive care. Participants will have the chance to perform a basic tuneup, sharpening, and replacing the chain, as time permits. We will also discuss using the right fuel and oil for your saw. Bring your questions! We will not be starting saws or cutting in this class, however. Prerequisite: This class is appropriate for anyone who already knows how to start a chainsaw. Please note that students are responsible for supplying the following items in order to perform a tuneup and sharpening on their saw. Different saws require different sizes/styles. Any shop that works on saws should be able to sell you the correct parts:Gasoline-powered chainsaw, round file, flat file, fuel filter, spark plug, air filter, scrench, eye protection, work gloves (ex. Nitrile covered fabric).
